Why do I need a "bear-proof" food container when I go backpacking?
The law requires you to carry and store your food in an approved container when you enter designated back country areas of National parks and forests where bears may be present. The Bare BoxerTM has been tested, approved and certified by the Sierra Interagency Black Bear Group (SIBBG) and the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) for use in both black bear and grizzly bear habitat.
